This time the Hungarian Price Ratio Research Association looked at Italian cold cuts. The results were reported on one of the most read test news sources in Hungary, the blog platform of the association’s Stay on My Money. Among the cold cuts called “Tricky” (because they are not Italian, but of Hungarian origin), the best of the Hungarian field was KOMETA Útravaló’s Italian cold cuts, with a score of 8.4 points. ALDI Italian cold cuts came second with 8.0 points, while SPAR Regnum Italian cold cuts came third with 7.7 points.
The blind test involved 15 participants, including staff of the Hungarian Price-Returns Research Association and lay people who tasted branded and private label pre-packaged Italian cold cuts from nationally available grocery chains.
The scoring was based on 3 criteria. For smell , the focus was on spiciness, and for taste, the product with a higher score was the one with pepper and nutmeg, but less for more salt. When scoring the texture , testers gave the highest marks for “firm but not hard”, with a moist finish scoring lower.
The winning KOMETA product, the KOMETA Road Trip Italian cold cuts, is available in TESCO, AUCHAN, CBA, Príma, Coop, Reál and Metro stores.
The full list of results is available at Sticking to my money blog.
KOMETA has also performed very well in previous tests of the I’m staying on the money. KOMETA bacon came first in the big bacon test, and KOMETA Bavarian grilled sausage won the Bavarian grilled sausage test.
