From 2024, Team Polti Kometa will be the name of the cycling team that bears the names of Ivan Basso and Alberto Contador.

The professional cycling team, which employs Eriket Fetter from Hungary, will change its name next year and will continue racing in the ProTeam category under the name Team Polti Kometa with the arrival of a new sponsor. Kometa has been a loyal partner of Alberto Contador’s Foundation since 2017, and the Italian Polti has a rich cycling heritage.

Since Kometa made its debut on the team’s jersey in 2017, the brand has been an integral part of the team’s identity.

“I am very pleased that we have renewed our partnership with Kometa.”

– said Fran Contador, the team’s general manager. This is the eighth consecutive year that Kometa has committed to be the title co-sponsor of the Alberto Contador Foundation project.

“We have come a long way together! Not only with the team, but also in the development of cycling in Hungary.”

– added Fran Contador. Kometa’s support enabled the team to qualify for the continental category in 2018 and helped them to start the 2022 Giro d’Italia in Budapest.

Kometa is continuing on the path it set itself many years ago.
