Tour de Hongrie - the Hungarian fans have done it again
Many people tried their luck at the KOMETA tent
Did you follow the Tour de Hongrie on your screen, or maybe go out to one or more stages to see your favourites live? As usual, at the Tour de Hongrie, you could not only cheer on our sponsored team (Team Polti VisitMalta), but also meet us.
We had one eye on the Giro d’Italia and the other on the Tour of Italy from 14 to 18 May. Once again, our team showed its mettle on the Hungarian roads, we got away, we fought in the last kilometres, but luck was not on our side, so we have bittersweet feelings. For sure, cheering on home roads – whatever jersey the cyclists wear – is an indescribable feeling. KOMETA CEO Giacomo Pedranzini says that cycling, apart from being a professional sport, is also a community-building force. That’s why we support local junior cycling, Alberto Contador’s Italian-registered professional cycling team, Team Polti VisitMalta, the domestic Tour and even the Giro d’Italia.
During the two days of the Tour de Hongrie, we were waiting for the visitors at the KOMETA tent, where the wheel of fortune decided whether the visitor received a gift immediately or had to do a little bit for it. We can tell you that no one left empty-handed. Buona vita!, which means “Good life!” in Italian, also appears on the packaging of our products. If you spun it, you could go and choose a gift. The rest of us either had to take a photo at our selfie frame or ride our indoor bikes or play a game of target bingo for a cloth bag, towel, canteen, glass and other KOMETA gifts.
It was a great atmosphere at the 100th Tour de Hongrie, we hope to see you again next year!
